Higher Ground

In collaboration with the composer Jules Pegram, Jim composed the libretto for a one-act opera, Higher Ground.

Higher Ground takes inspiration from Jim’s family history to tell the story of two lovers separated by a natural disaster. The opera is written for a cast of six singers and a chorus of ten. It debuted at The University of Michigan in April 2018.
